What is the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)?

The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) provides entry-level support services to help older Australians live independently in their homes and communities. Funded by the Australian Government, CHSP is designed to offer assistance tailored to your needs, promoting safety, well-being, and quality of life.

Who is eligible?

CHSP is available to people aged 65 years and over (or 50 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) who require low-level support to continue living at home.

To access CHSP services, you’ll need to follow these simple steps:

  • Register with My Aged Care: Call 1800 200 422 or visit My Aged Care to create a profile.

  • Assessment: Book an in-home assessment with the Regional Assessment Service (RAS) to identify the support you need.

  • Choose a Provider: Select a service provider like Kalang Community Care to start receiving assistance.
